Thousands of shares of stock are traded every day in the New York Stock Exchange. How does the exchange profit from doing this, do they get a certain amount or percentage per share? Watching television on a trading day at the New York Stock Exchange you see hundreds of people waving and screaming holding up little pieces of paper, what is this paper? Who are these people and how do they get paid? Are these the people they were talking about getting the million dollars bonuses the first of the year?

Germany is going to buy the New york Stock Exchange, they are buying a majority of the shares. Will they change the name of it to sound more European like Euro Empire stocks or something like that.

Outside of New York Stock Exchange, there are three small American flags hanging. But last week, I went there and saw two American and one Chinese flags there. Can anyone explain it? Thanks a lot!

Typically on the news they show a scene of a couple dozen or so people in business attire standing on a balcony overlooking the floor of the New York Stock Exchange smiling and clapping. On this morning's news this scene was shown as the market closed yesterday after dropping 600 points, an electric sign showed the date to be August 8th, somebody was ringing a bell and all these bozos were smiling and clapping while the voice over commentator was talking about doom and gloom and more job loss. What the #3!! is with these people?

In reading the John Kenneth Gailbrith's book The Great Crash 1929, I noticed he talks about whether the stock market was up or down on certain Saturdays. I never knew that the New York Stock Exchange was ever opened on Saturdays for trading. I'm just wondering what date did they stop trading on Saturdays.

What is the average annual volume, in dollars and in shares on the New York Stock Exchange in year? I am trying to search for the data everywhere, but can't seem to find it. I have tried e-mailing NYX but haven't got anywhere. I'd appreciate any help.

What kind of person works on the floor in the New York stock exchange? Why are they always yelling? What degree did most of them get in college and about how much do they make? Like what is their job title? Thanks! This is for a project, and I'm obviously not typing the right words into the search engine.

The other day I was hanging out with my buddy and he was talking about birth certificates being securities on the New York Stock Exchange. I was like yea right bull crap and shrugged it off as him being a stoner that smoked himself stupid. The next day I was board so I decided to check out my birth certificate. I looked in the right hand corner where there are some red numbers and checked out those numbers to see if it is really a security, and it is WTF?
